Journey Through Time

I Featured the Frog...

...because he's so darn cute.  And considering I had to crop this considerably,I thought he turned out fairly good.  So, frog it is.  I hope the new Princess doesn't have to kiss many frogs when she's looking for her Prince Charming!.

We had our annual Bauman Farm  trip today with my aunt.  This is our Mother's Day treat.  We drive south of Portland to Woodburn and hang a left and drive a bit out into the countryside and end  up at this wonderful Farm/Nursery place where we get my aunt her summer flowers for Mother's Day.  I get to get some too!   Yay, it's a win, win.  We have coffee or tea and scones and then enjoy the wonderful flowers as we walk around their grounds.  Afterward we drove into Mt. Angel, a community that's not far, and we ended up having lunch there.  Mt. Angel is well known in our area for it's Octoberfest.  The little town is decked out a bit like a German village, although not on the order of Leavenworth, WA, which has gone completely Germanic/Austrian, since it is located in the Cascade Mountains,  which they really, really hope looks a little like the Austrian Alps. But I digress.  Then, with our car stuffed with flowers and plants, and with us being satisfied with some locally made sausage, we headed northward and went to our son's new apartment in Tualatin.  He's on the 3rd floor and we all managed to climb the stairs and my aunt was proud of herself for doing that.  Our son is finally settled into a place that he likes, rooming with a long time friend, and since he has a 13 month lease, I suppose that's where he will live for the next year and a month.  This is the exact same apartment complex he lived in when he lived and worked in Tualatin some 12 years ago or so.  I lose track of the time.  His roommate works days and David works the late swing shift, so they each feel like they have their own private apartment all week long, as they are like ships passing in the night.  At least they won't grate on each other's nerves!  ha

And if you see the photos and notice at all that the sky looks a little dusty or smokey, it's because of the wildfires in Siberia and the jet stream bringing that smoke to the Pacific NW.

Hey, if you actually read clear down to this point, good for you!  I figured out how to add an "extra" photo.  That is the Jesse Settlemeir House.  Didn't even know it existed until today.  It's open the first Sunday of every month.  Gotta put that on the 'to do' list.  Check it out!
See ya
