Regret

I hadn't known that the verb, regret, can be used in a notice like this. Although I could easily find the meaning of, as well as some instances of, regret used in contexts like this when I referred to some dictionaries, I haven't found a lot of notices containing regret since then.

This day I went for a day trip to Cambridge. Had a fabulous time with a friend there despite grey weather. Now I'd like to talk about Cambridge with a brother of my grandmother, who has been to it a lot for research.
