Cala Boquer

Today was a free day, but still in the spirit for a good walk we set off to find the path across the Formentor peninsula and through the Boquer Valley to Cala Boquer. Missing the turning, we started instead with a lovely stroll around the bay, past the boats, a group of painters and along the promenade until we realised we'd gone too far. The Promenade is beautiful, lined with pine trees and curving gently round to give lovely views back to Puerto Pollensa and of the bay.

We looked at the map (always useful), found the path and headed up over the neck of the promontory: the flowers were beautiful and the rugged limestone rocks were quite spectacular but nothing prepared us for the view of the bay as we scrambled down the overgrown path to look onto the shingle beach and the beautifully clear turquoise blue water. Simply stunning.
