Bad Hair Day

There are times when it really pays for me to be a little stuffed dog rather than a real one and today was one of those occasions.

Some months ago The Boss was in Wellington and tackled (not footie eh) the City to Sea walking trail a 6 hour 12 Km walk on the hills behind the city. Due to extremely poor signage he gave up about half way so today armed with a new App which tracked your position on a map he decided to attack it again but start at the finish and work bark. Starting at the end was interesting and one of the more challenging bits that I WAS worried about was the 145 steps that went straight up. I was assured that it was NOT the stairway to heaven but I was glad when The Boss started moving again after all that heavy breathing. Unaccustomed as he is…to heavy breathing…right!
The App was fantastic and conflicted completely on 3 occasions to the signage that had other ideas and The Boss found exactly where he had fallen (meteorically speaking) off the track last time and it was a brilliant bit of signage placement that the local council blokes should be proud of. Blokessess would have done a better job. So if you want to do this sometime get the Welli Walk app. Its worth 5 barks and a block of cheese and its free.
Of course being Wellington it did get a tad windy as these Toi Toi’s betray very well.
Oh and an additional bark…..Don’t leave your phone on screen when using GPS tracking as it is heavy on juice consumption soThe Boss said..I didn’t see him drink ANY juice just the usual Z and a big Hot Choc when he staggered bark to town 20,500 steps and 120 floors later.  (so his fruit phone said)

IMPORTANT PAWSCRIPT
We were not injured or bothered by the earthquake that you will see reported about Wanaka.
of course we were not there BUT our friends report it as a quiet folk dance (old time rock and roll)
and it has not bothered the 2,750,397 leaves that will be waiting to be picked up when we return (unfortunately) Sigh
