Deep Purple

It's been a bit gloomy today - except a 5 minute window of sunshine mid-afternoon.

After a mad scramble to find my camera, a fresh battery, my SD card, AND my 100mm lens after yesterday's shoot, I managed to get this shot of a gorgeous intensely purple salvia in our front garden. I'm not sure that it's supposed to be flowering quite so prolifically at the moment, but it is, and I'm grateful for it.
