Wedding Day

Local lad Simon McDonnagh hitched with his lady - Dominique- today at St Ediths Church.
We follow the age old tradition of the children of the village tying the Church gates up with string whilst the Bride and Groom become Mr and Mrs, they then have to throw coins over the gate before they can be given the necessary equipment to get out.
We keep it simple for most couples.
When we have a local -grown up in't village- lad or lass the rules change some-what and we go to extremes!

Tomorrow we -along with 900 other people- are guests at The Party in the Park at Garrowby Hall, home of Lord and Lady Halifax, the weather is promising to be pretty crap and cold and I need to get up early to prepare our part of the picnic.
I could really do with the wedding party, which is on the field next to our house, so that I might get some sleep.

So pleased to hear that fellow blipper Mike is doing good in hospital, you are in my thoughts.
