Fred & Andy

Quebrada at the top of Little Adams Peak

After an amazing breakfast spread at Elephant Camp we say our goodbyes and get on the bus to Ella. Having asked the conductor to let us know when we arrive, he kindly lets us know just as we are leaving so we have to get off at the next village and take another bus back. Not too much trouble really but slightly annoying as he and the driver giggle to each other.

The guest house Jaya has recommended is very quaint and run by a lovely elderly lady. We check it then go for a wander. Ella is a really sweet little hill town with a nice vibe to it. We have decided to climb Little Adam's Peak which is close by but have lunch first. As we eat the heavens open but it subsides quite quickly so we decide to have a go. Its a relatively easy climb and takes about an hour each way. We spend a bit of time on the top and Andy practices his Quebradas with the gonks watching.  As we get to the bottom and rain starts again and we shelter in the porch of a supermarket. It really tips it down and some of the fruit sellers with their stalls opposite have to give up and make a run for it, tomatoes rolling down the street. We eventually get bored as the rain lessons just slightly and put our macs on and head back to the guest house. We have our trainers on so they are soaked but are clothes are largely dry.

It stops later and we head out to a cute little bar for some snacks and a couple of beers. Its nice here but we're leaving tomorrow. Perhaps we should stay another day.
