I'M ROOTING FOR A FIG TREE

This plucky little tree lives in an inadequate concrete box on Boulevard Anspach in central Brussels.

For the past three years it has put out an abundance of green figs & leaves...

Only to encounter, come high summer a fortnight's drought. Nobody in the buildings surrounding this courtyard seems to have the gumption to give it anything to drink :o(

Result? It relinquishes everything green & goes into a "damage limitation" coma in the desperate hope of water next time...
