Happy birthday to my favourite bone man!

I prefer to photograph wildlife in the wild, where I find it. However, this male praying mantis turned up in my kitchen of his own volition and I decide that he was fair game. I don't have a light box and the light was poor on this gloomy day. Please excuse the graininess.

After he had posed so nicely for me I took him outside. The place he was most likely to catch flies was on the big Viburnum bushes, but I have seen at least four females there in the last few days. Instead I guided him onto a Pittosporum bush close by. He might be lucky.
