Minninglow

We interrupt Tulip Weekend to bring you a slightly murky shot of a Neolithic burial mound. I forgot to put the SD card back in the camera again but we'd taken the ipad with us (carefully wrapped in a freezer bag against the rain) because the printer's broken again and we couldn't print out the directions for the walk we had planned this morning. The usual well-organised Prime Family outing. Minninglow is one of those Peak District sites I find it hard to believe we've not found our way to before (like the nearby Black Rocks at Cromford a couple of weeks ago.) A very impressive spot. It was all a bit 'A Field in England' as we climbed the mist shrouded bank, entered through a gap in the circular plantation of trees that rings the summit and came across the stones. Afterwards we walked down through the embankment tunnel under the High Peak Trail and out across the limestone-studded fields as the day brightened and the sun finally showed itself...

Later on we went out for a Bank Holiday curry and I happily put a dent into the good work, diet-wise, by cheerfully demolishing the remains of Beck's Chicken Makhani as well as my own Lamb Karahi and still finding room for the leftover quarter of Peshwari Naan...
