'63 Chevy Impala

This car was made the year OilMan and I were married. It doesn't look 52 years old! The owner was sitting in the car, and happy for me to take its picture but leapt out of the car himself as soon as I pulled out the camera.

It was parked outside Sonoma Backyard where we grudgingly went to look at "spas". No longer are they called hot tubs, and for good reason…the inside looks like an airplane cockpit and the outside looks like fake wood and plastic! They can "incorporate entertainment and experiences for all of the senses…including your audio and video entertainment, chromotherapy and aromatherapy…."  Looks like it's back to the drawing board. I found some beautiful Japanese soaking tubs, even ones that can be put outside, but they are like a conventional bathtub, designed to be filled with 50 or 60 gallons of water each time they are used and then emptied. We don't even put that much water on our garden!

I'd rather sit in the '63 Impala!

Increasingly unpleasant encounters with some people who live on the corner of our street and their two pit bulls, over which they have only minimal control, came to a head last light when one of the dogs launched itself through a window of the car at Cindy and her two dogs. Fortunately, neither she nor her dogs were hurt, but it scared the hell out of her! Letters have been written and authorities notified. In the meantime, we are all using the "shortcut" out the back gate. Not exactly country living…or is it?
