Before the Hail

I needed to visit Ambleside today so I drove back over Kirkstone Pass making several stops, including the shores of Ullswater, to get some pics. 

But then the rain came.
And then the hail came.

Here is a pic looking towards Patterdale, just before the rain hit me, you can just see it coming up the valley.
