E Larga Magnificentia

I've often wondered about the inscription over the doors of Oriel College, specifically who the heck Caecilii (Cecil) Rhodes was. Turns out he was a student of Oriel (obviously) who founded Rhodesia (now Zambia and Zimbabwe), was Prime Minister of the Cape Colony (now South Africa) and left £100,000 to the College when he died in 1902. The building pictured was built in 1911 using that money and is unsurprisingly called the Rhodes building. The statue at the top is the man himself, bottom left is Edward VII and bottom right is George V. I fiddled with the contrast a lot on this one to make the inscription stand out more.
