Life through the lens...

My walk

Well I was lucky today, and had good weather for my walk.
The one we recced last Friday.see here
12 of our walking club members turned up. Apart from one person,  and ourselves of course, none of them knew the area, and were very surprised at the lovely countryside in between Bradford, Halifax, and Huddersfield.( See the map)
They also found the history of the area fascinating too.
The new beech leaves were just emerging, and the bluebells and garlic flowers were out in full.
Then when we reached the open meadows, the dandelions were a carpet pf yellow, shining in the sun light.( there were a few dark clouds, but the rain kept off)
After our lunch stop, we came to the part of the walk where we met the young cows last week, and where I decided on a detour to avoid them.
Well would you believe it, the farmer had moved them into another field,
and we couldn't avoid them this time!
I have put a photo up on my extras, and you can see how close they came, to have a good look at us! A lot of "shooing" kept them at arms length! ( we were certainly glad when we crossed the stile over the wall!)
The walk finished at the Old White Beare pub In Norwood Green.see here
Where we all sat outside, and had a few beers, shandy, or coffee.
Now feeling tired, but happy, and glad everyone enjoyed their day.
(I have been asked to do it again next year. This time on a Sunday, so a few more of our members can come.!)
