From Castle to Canal

I went up to Whittington Castle this morning, the starting point of the Castle to Canal walk. A walk, a well deserved pint and a castle sounds like a relaxing way to spend a bank holiday morning.

When I got to Whittington castle though, it turned out that they were having a Norman day, with battle reenactments and loads of people in costume. So, after a walk and well deserved pint in Ye Olde Boote I took in a medieval battle and then wandered around the camp...I'm not convinced they actually had barbecues back then though.
