Record Breakers

A bizarre thing happened today in Nice.

We were expecting some kind of event or parade to mark the 70th Anniversary of VE day instead we experienced a world record attempt to mark the 20th Anniversary of a Chinese company involving half the global workforce.

Tian, a Chinese company, is celebrating 20 years and as part of the celebrations the owner has, at a cost of 13 million Euros, paid for half his staff - all 6,500 of them - to have a trip to France with 2 days in Paris and 2 days in Nice.

We didn't notice them in Nice yesterday but today the Prom was full of 6,500 Tian workers all dressed in either blue or white hats and T-shirts to take part in a world record attempt. They appear to be aiming to get the record for the human sentence - the most number of people involved in making a sentence or phrase. We could work out that the last bit was Cote D'Azur but we have no idea what the whole thing said.

After the world record attempt we did them get a VE day parade led by a Chinese man in a white jacket which we are guessing was Mr Tian.
