An English rose

A bright and cheery sight on a dull, wet day. After a walk this afternoon I watched the later parts of the pageant on the Thames. It was a great event, and the Queen once again was a wonderful presence throughout the occasion. She has my utmost admiration and respect for the way she has fulfilled the role of constitutional monarch, and to have carried out such remarkable service for the country for 60 years makes the occasion truly historic. Over recent years in the Christmas messages she has made clear statements about her faith, which to me is the best of all.
