All by myself

The vote counting took longer than anticipated this year and my entire team were drafted in to take over from the staff that had counted the votes through the night and until 9.am.

My colleague Tracy was due to have the afternoon off but fortunately she took pity on me and cancelled, staying behind to help deal with our customer enquiries until close of business. Then we went to the pub for beer.
