Rhododendron

It has been fun this spring exploring the yard at the new house to see what our garden grows. The previous owners planned the yard carefully and there are many wonderful perennials. Today, several rhododentron shrubs around the pond are in bloom. We are so lucky!

Of course, all of this beauty must be looked after, so there is a tremendous amount of yard work to be done. Today's task was to move some pathway stones, clean the perimeter of unwanted trees and seedlings, prepare a bed in the corner for planting, and then plant some flowers. It was hard work, but satisfying when it was finished. All that remains is preparing the other 95% of the yard for spring. I have my work cut out for me.

Tonight, however, it was time to play. The women on my curling team went for dinner to celebrate the birthday of one of teammates. It was a lovely evening.
