Cigs

West Approach Road

Welcome to the inaugural Edinburgh and District Upside Down Spray Painting Writing Competition.

After fiercely contested heats, the finalists were

Sine
Deli
Cigs
OE
Easy
Youtz

Youtz went first and was disqualified for not being able to spell his name correctly. A disappointing end to promising run of recent form. He had been many people's pre match favourite, especially after his colourful van on Clark Road.

Next up was Easy, who did an unconvincing rendering of his tag. He appeared overawed by the event and his lack of experience in the big game showed. One for the future, though.

Deli took up the challenge but was sadly let down by his short arms and lack of spatial awareness as he crammed in his tag to the corner and ran out of space.

Cigs next and he made the basic error if not keeping all the characters the same size; the double underline however did earn him extra points.

On Edge did a tricky one - low down on the bridge, testing his range to the full and managed a brilliant frivolous flourish to the end of the e.

But the clear winner master tagger Sine. His excellent rendering of a bubble version of his tag wowed the crowd and that it is barely distinguishable from tags done normally is testament to his undoubted talent at upside down tagging.

Black paint on grey metal bridge; capitals, double underling. Undated.
