A forest of fungi

There's just SO much to see!
A world in miniature..

Look at those breathtaking Cladonia sp. with their 'in your face' lipstick red fruiting bodies!
Don't they just look like those daft puffy lips that some people seem to want?

It was exactly these kind of things that got me into fungal biology, and even more into microscopy.

It's not enough just to appreciate it, I have such an urge to start cutting cross sections and having a closer look.

Ok, I know there's mosses too, they're fascinating in their own right, but I'm no bryologist.
