The Grand Canyon

Today was my last day of fieldwork in Arizona. I worked on finishing my logs, photographs and sampling in the morning around page before heading to see the Grand Canyon to celebrate the end of my fieldwork. It was a long drive but totally worth it as the grand canyon was spectacular. It is around 1 mile deep, an average of 10 miles wide and hundreds of miles long - it stretched out as far as the eye could see. The layering from all the different geological units really brought the canyon to life. I finished my day by driving to Las Vegas to get ready for my flight home tomorrow morning.
