Strawberry, lemon, ginger and poppyseed scones

I have succumbed to another cookery book- this one is called The Violet Bakery Cookbook. It was on special offer in Waitrose and the photographs tempted me to buy it ( as well as the delicious range of recipes)

Although not the tallest of scones, the flavour combination is quite delicious. I hadn't really thought of putting fresh strawberry chunks in a scone mixture before as it does make it quite wet, but a hot oven an minimal mixing should overcome this issue in the future.
