Fruit Season

There is plenty of fresh fruit this time of year in Zihuatanejo. The best place to find mangos, papayas, avocados (not sure it is actually a fruit), limes, bananas, oranges, and a host of others I cannot name, nor even recognize is on the street leading into the mercado - Los Cocos. There are many small specialty vendors lining the street who sell the freshest of the fresh, I'm sure from their own farms/orchards (more likely garden plots). There is really no way to describe the taste of biting into a straight from the tree mango or papaya. We were talking at dinner tonight and decided that the produce here is so much better than what we were able to get in the United States, at least at the grocery stores where we used to shop. I'm sure Farmer's Markets would provide much the same, but we have one every day here in Zihua.
