St. George

Back on the bike for a ride over the Vale of Pickering. I have passed the church in Great Edstone many times but decided to have a closer look.

St. Michael's church was built in Saxon times but like many churches was rebuilt in the 13th century with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. This stained glass window of St. George caught my eye.

Just outside there is a Pinfold which is where stray animals were kept until claimed by their owners or sold to pay for their keep.
