When we lived in New York, we were so fortunate that our children went to an incredible school that truly lived by it's motto of fostering 'a life of critical, ethical and global thinking'. My children just couldn't quite get their head around the fact that the playground was on the roof of the 3 storey building.

This is a photo from their primary school in Australia. A very different concept of playground and a slightly different skyline.
