7 May 2015 - East Side Gallery

Another busy day trying to packing in as much as possible. It started with a visit to a very disappointing synagogue, i wanted to see the architecture but ended up in the dome which was an anticlimax.  Then took a tube across the city to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church which was bombed and destroyed in the war and has been kept as a memorial.  The church that had been built next to it to replace it, is an amazing modern church filled with blue stainglass windows, really impressive.

Then took another train to east Side gallery and the 1.3km of the Berlin wall which has survived and has been turned into an art gallery.  I really liked the art, it was moving and impressive and some of them were really iconic.

Finally that day we dragged ourselves around the Museumsinsel to do the highlights of those amazing museums that should have been given weeks to look around.  The highlight by far was Nefertiti, lived up to and exceeded my expectations, it is so exquisite and lifelike.

We were exhausted by the end of the day and I will not reveal where we ended up going for tea that evening but needless to say it was not very highbrow!!!!!!
