9 May 2015 - Photographing Brandenburger Tor

Day spent at Schloss Charlottenburg having an old lady day in Berlin, the highlight of the day was seeing the Neuer Flügel and the guilded ballrooms which were amazing.  I was also taken by a painting of a dancer and her amazing dress and spent a bit of time being a ballet dancer twirling around emulating the picture.  (PESNE, Antoine French painter (b. 1683, Paris, d. 1757, Berlin) The Dancer Barbara Campanini c. 1745 Oil on canvas, 221 x 140 cm)

In the evening, we took ourselves to another vegetarian restaurant which was recommended in the Lonely Planet, a most memorable experience!!!  We mistakenly ordered the Raviolli with red cabbage essence for starter and the waitress warned us it was a soup but we said that would be fine (it was not!).  It was awful, who wants to drink red cabbage essence, it was like the juice from pickled cabbed , it was hideous.  The main was nice but overshadowed by the starter and the meal was ruined really.

Then we went to see the Brandenburger Tor lit up at night and I was not alone, lots of photographers were taking pictures as well but I enjoyed taking a picture of such an iconic symbol.
