Exploring Alfama

Today Pippa and I set out exploring Lisbon. We initially we wanted to go to Belém, but as it seemed there were hardly any trams running that could take us there. So we changed plans and explored the oldest area of Lisbon, Alfama. In this maze of cobbled streets you csn climb up to the castle and look out over Lisbon. In many of the streets laundry is hung out to dry and you hear / see the caged canaries.
