Pagodas

These models were made in Shanghai between 1912 and 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915. The one in the middle is of a pagoda built in CE982 in Suzhou.

San Francisco is the only airport in the world to have an accredited museum. We saw an excellent collection of models of Chinese pagodas, and in the domestic terminal on the way out to Hawaii a superb Art Deco exhibition.
