Entertainment at the cemetery???

We went for our morning run in the fresh cool air today at our local cemetery (the training grounds for Ed Whitlock).  As we rounded the third bend, Sandy noticed a new tree sculpture.  The Hawk.  The next lap we bumped into Jim Menken who was busy with his chain saws completing his next project.  The ice storm we lived with last year destroyed many large trees and Jim is now being commissioned to transform them into real life wild animals.  Such an awesome career change from being a teacher.  His work is truly remarkable.  After the carving process he is busy painting and sealing the critters from the harsh weather.  It's a pleasure to walk through the cemetery to see owls, bears, hawks, raccoons, beavers squirrels, rabbits, various birds and wind screens of scary people.  The last one is in my extra.  He does these with trees that are damaged in the middle.  I will post some extras in my Facebook page, Pietila Photography.
