Chipping Sparrow

I visited my friend Les Campbell this afternoon at his wonderful property in Belchertown Mass.  He is a top-notch veteran photographer who won national awards for nature photography in the 1950's, before turning mainly to landscape photography since.

I will be doing a modest workshop on bird photography next week, under the auspices of the Hampshire Bird Club, and I plan to have two field sessions at Les's property. While we were setting up the feeder and the perches, I got a few good shots, including this one. My prize chipping sparrow is this one, from five years ago; it was taken at the Friends Meeting House in Westport Mass, where I gave a presentation yesterday. What goes around, comes around :)
