Quod oculus meus videt

View from the Temple

Work continues on the Temple of Diana in Weston Park to make it ready for a grand opening as a holiday let.  Part of the work has been to remove a number of rhododendron bushes that blocked the view from the one facade across Temple Pool.  Now they have been removed the vista includes Paine's Bridge, also designed by the same architect.

The foundation has done some amazing work over the last few years to renovate parts of the park and buildings.  However, with any large estate they still have plenty to do.  The planning is constant and as ever, not everything can be done in one go.  Also the timescales are significant and there is a need to carry out succession planting on a grand scale to ensure that some of the groups of trees are not lost.  They are planning in centuries in some instances!

Had a private conversation with another blipper from New Zealand last night - a few thousand miles has no significance in this modern telecommunication age.  It appears we are both suffering the dreaded Blip loss of mojo.  Hopefully being off next week will recharge my batteries, though from what I can see it might be rather unsettled.
