Home Guard

1940’s weekend at Haworth is always a colourful , fun event.   It is extremely well organised and well supported, with parades, fly-overs and lots of people dressing up in period style, having a great time.   But there is a serious side to it as well.   40’s weekend bring s in lots of trade to the village, much needed  contributions to  various forces charities and helps to ensure in a fun way that we never forget the horrors of war and the
sacrifices made for us.   This year celebrates the founding of the Home Guard 70 years ago, with lots of Home Guard related events and men in Home Guard  uniform.   This  photograph was taken outside their heavily guarded, sandbagged HQ for the weekend.
Many thanks to all who dropped by and left lovely comments and stars for Ramson flowers yesterday.   I really do appreciate your wonderful support.
