Alcester Court Leet at Work

Today is Alcester's Spring Food Festival. The High Street is closed to traffic, and is choc-a-bloc full of food stalls and people enjoying themselves in the sunshine.
These two chaps are part of the Alcester Court Leet  and the officers can be seen at all of the main Alcester events, maintaining traditional roles that have been part of the local area for over 700 years, "testing beer" and other similar onerous activities.
There was even a chap there next to a beer stand (see my extra picture), asking "Is the end near?". Maybe he knew something about the food on sale that we didn't!
Tomorrow is the Alcester Artisan Market, again in the High Street, so let's hope for the sake of the people who have stalls, that the end isn't near.
