Germander Speedwell

A really common plant, but surely one of the finest shows of blue, after Bluebells, in the spring. All the speedwells are lovely, but Germander Speedwell has the largest and most intense blue flowers with a white 'bird's eye' in the centre. Common names include Bird's eye, Cat's eye, Farewell and Goodbye. As the commonest name suggests, these jolly little flowers are meant to speed you on your journey.
