Standing tall...

A slow go today. After feeding everything ,spent most of the morning repairing the week's breakages. First off ,the head yoke on the cattle crush which got bent by a bull. Big sledge hammer,a set of Stilsons and a long pipe cured it.
Next the steering column on the tractor, which "just went all floppy". Had to dismantle half the dash, and space out with some wee washers and roll pins. Will have to do till the new bits arrive.
Went to check cattle down the road, and the fences of the next field needing some hungry mouths. Discovered one of the houses backing onto the field had an overflowing septic tank causing a nice stinking wet patch in the field. Tried knocking their door, but no one home. Presume they will discover soon enough when their drains back up !
Finally, spent half an hour cursing tonight trying to get a beasts head out of a railing fence in the slatted shed. Eventually managed with a jack, big hammer (again! ) plenty of lube gel on its face. It's head is up like a balloon, but should be OK.
To calm things down, here is one of my favourite climbing trees when I was a wee boy. Don't think I could get very far up it these days !
