Café Littéraire

To Lagrasse again for more Spanish literature. This time an interesting discussion between three authors and their translators, and in the evening a concert of poetry, dance, and poems set to music. The first half, with a dancer, a guitarist, and a reader, left us cold, but the second half was a very good guitarist, Jean-François Ruiz, with soprano Sandra Hurtado-Ros, singing settings of poems by Lorca and Machado. The singing was in the style of cante jondo, but more measured -- a sample here.

It looks warm and sunny, but it's been very windy most of the weekend and it was quite chilly when we left at about 11:30. Another late night, so it's off to bed for me!
