A different path

Huff huff huff huff huff came the sound of the fast-approaching lunchtime jogger.

HUFF HUFF HUFF HUFF HUFF as they pounded past, feet slapping the path.

Huff huff huff huff huff ... as they receded into the distance.

And I?

I was lost in contemplation of the incredible architecture of a single leaf, its intricate patterns and structure, the many subtleties of colour, form and texture it contained. All in just one leaf!

Which of us was making the most of their time? The jogger exercising their body, or me exercising my eyes? Who can say?

Hmmm.

It occurs to me that I was also contemplating the sneaky pork pie I was eating, so maybe the jogger does have the moral high ground.
