Azalea

Azaleas and rhododendrons are very closely related. A way to distinguish between them is that (most) azaleas shed their leaves in winter. Rhododendron do not. Both kinds come in many wonderful colours. The colour variation among azaleas is greater, though. At least to my experience. You can find azaleas with astoundingly intense colours, like this one.
