Queen's River Pageant

We did not attend the official route of the pageant but decided to see the boats returning after the official ceremonies have finished. We waited in our spot and at about 4.30 pm various boats appeared on the river Thames. The weather was fine at first but then it turned really horrendous. Heavy rain and wind. Despite that, we waived and cheered while watching people rowing and sailing. By then they must have been exhausted and the weather did not help the sailors in their final hours. I really felt that all those people who participated in the river pageant celebrations deserved proper appreciation for their efforts and stamina.
