Busy Neighborhood

It's been a very busy day in the neighborhood.  First thing this morning was the Portland Marathon, the route this year passed right through our neighborhood and down our street in front of the house, it was odd and kind of great to be standing on the front porch having my coffee watching hundreds of runners hoofing it along the street in the cool of the morning.   I took a bunch of pictures which all look the same and are really quite boring.

As well as the marathon it was the historic home tour in the neighborhood, this always brings visitors and extra traffic.  The people attending the tour are easy to spot, booklet and bright blue shoe cover bootees in hand looking at the map and wondering which way Klickitat Street is.  Folks that have a passion for old cars get to enjoy seeing some beautifully preserved vehicles driving through the neighborhood, their passengers in period dress.  My favorite car today was this one as it had so much character, a chicken at the wheel, plates saying Hoover for President, and piled high with household items as if it had just driven off a page in history.

There are some other car pix on flickr.
