Elmhurst School Choir

Elmhurst School, Street, Somerset, used to be a grammar school (= academic secondary school). When the grammar school combined with the local secondary modern school (= non-academic) to become Crispin School (with the sixth form taken over by Strode College), Elmhurst became a junior (= upper primary) school.
Sometimes a reunion is organised of those of us who were there in the grammar school days. This picture shows the present school's choir entertaining about 60 of us, before we were taken on a tour of the school! We were made to feel most welcome by both staff and pupils; it seems a very happy place!
Afterwards the former pupils enjoyed a lunch, a raffle, and an afternoon of reminiscences etc, in Compton Dundon's village hall.
