Zurek

Today I made some Polish Zurek, a kind of smokey sausage and potato soup, using a rye sourdough as a base. A very traditional and tasty recipe, made all the more authentic by my Polish guest and the White Flag polish shop over the road providing many of the ingredients. I have enough leftover vegetables for some 'Russian Salad' but I am not convinced I will be able to find the missing pickled cucumber in time.

A very right and hearty soup, with some home made bread and a hard boiled egg, as is traditional apparently.
