Crazy Days

I've managed to get my blipping days mixed up. Not to worry. Sunday was a fabulous day.

Mrs W and I went to Watford to see The Jive Aces performing as part of the Watford Big Sounds Festival. They're a great band - loads of fun, we've seen them several times before. It was particularly nice to meet up with a big gang of the Jiveswing club. It was so nice to join in as a part big camp, all our stuff is looked after and we can take to the floor for a huge boogie. I'm not sure that the good citizens of Watford have seen anything quite like it.

A number of our group knew some of the band members really well. I think they might have gone to school with them. After the gig they came over to have a chat and a catch up. It's amazing how the dance/music community all seem to know each other. So this is some of the gang with the band. The longer I took to take photographs the more people dived in to be a part of it. This is one of the less manic images.

Then followed the Ronnie Scott's Allstars, playing some blisteringly fast jazz - which took some keeping up with but kept us seriously warm. We were in shirt sleeves whilst onlookers wore coats and gloves.

The headline act was Rebecca Ferguson doing a load of bluesy numbers which we could groove to. Ending with a high energy fast number where we managed to deport ourselves well enough to attract a gaggle of photographers.

It was a novel (for me) experience to go to an event that wasn't dance specific and yet get a load of good quality dancing done. Fabulous fun.
