Pfingstrose

Peony in English.  We have quite a few of them in bloom in the garden.

Must admit, I enjoy having a garden.  It is good to get out and do something, even if it is mowing the grass with my new mower.  The mower is fine.  It's great not having to worry about cutting cables. And the length of the grass is acceptable.

The lawn itself is another story altogether.  A mass of holes and moss.  It'll take quite a bit of time and effort to get it to the way I want it but I'll give it a go.

However, I am a bit worried about the summer heat and how much water a lawn needs.  Can I really justify having a green lawn?  I'm not sure I can.  I know it's only 20 square meters but that works out at 10,400 liters if I watered conservatively for 26 weeks of each year*.  That seems a lot.

I need a couple of rain barrels.  That might be an answer.

*1 liter per square meter per week.
