Old school ties

Special day at school with Leavers Day, celebrating the transition of leaving the Upper Sixth. Part of my job is to maintain the relationship with students after they leave school;we had changed the format of the day and thankfully it went down really well.
One of my little actions has been to revamp the "old school tie" and a delivery of 100 lovely new silk ties arrived this morning. The students loved them, phew. I am always touched when I meet some of our oldest "old boys", who left school in the 40s, who still wear their tie to events.
