Cape Flattery

We are flabbergasted at the landscape and the fact that our memory is hobbled by time. We were out to the far most northwest corner of the continental U.S. Where we visited bout twenty years ago yet the long twisting up and down narrow road felt new as did the hike out to this view wire point.

We then went a bit down the coast to hike in to the famous Shi Shi beach where we also hiked some twenty years ago. Could not find the "in our memory easy approach" after paying to park on a Makkah tribal home based parking lot. The approach is through the reservation. The entry we found was a muddy two mile trail that ended at the sheerest long free fall trail to the beach with worn out ropes and slippery worn out pitch. Flyng would have worked but we left our wings at home.

So disappointed we gave up and went back. A local told us we must have parked at Tillie's back then and hiked down a washout where the starting point was lower but that was all gone for at least ten years. All I know is memory had faded so nothing looked familiar.

This image is about as close as we got to the beach. Again a major free fall.

Posting this the day after.
