Lady’s Mantle - Dew Plant - Alchemilla

Today seems to have been an uninspiring day photographically speaking. Weatherwise it was a cold front day with a mix of sun and almost thundery showers.
After such a shower I wandered out into the garden in search of a blip and took a picture of this lady’s mantle, growing out of the debris of last year’s plant. Hence all the water drops balancing on the leaves.
In Swedish this is plant is daggkåpa, dew cup, because early in the morning each leaf has a water droplet sitting at its center.  Even the Latin name refers obliquely to dew, because this plant is a good collector of dew, alchemists believed that dew had special properties, and so came the scientific name Alchemilla.
