Sign of the Times 140/365

Since 2012 it is quite usual to see British Transport Police armed with their 5.56mm LMT-CQB carbines and 9mm Glock 17 pistols. It's a necessity in these uncertain times, but you can't help feeling that it still doesn't quite sit right in a country which has prided itself on a largely unarmed Police Service. The reality is that there probably are not enough weapons trained officers to deal with a major situation should it arise. Unfortunately all defence cuts - including those to law and order - could well have serious consequences one day.
